A challenging but incredibly fun design + build project in Prairie Village, Kansas. In order to meet local requirements, the first 6′ of the structure had to remain unchanged but could be updated to reflect the new look and feel.

This corner lot now features a shed style roof and mixed material siding, including stucco, stone and lap. Carefully placed clerestory windows bring in natural light and views of soaring, mature trees in the more private spaces of the home. A balcony off the master suite and a covered patio off the back of the home are the perfect spaces to enjoy the green space and creek at the back of the property.

The homeowners take an interest in all things art so our team collaborated with them to incorporate their favorite pieces into the overall design of the home with special lighting, platforms and a sitting nook to enjoy.

Throughout the remainder of the home you’ll find clean lines and a contrasting black and white theme with pops of vibrant color. We’ve even kept some of the homes’ history alive by preserving the original fireplace while also giving the surround a face lift.
